Organic produce is far from a fad. The fact that majority of non organic food is laden in chemicals or has been Genetically Modified gives more than enough reason to make the switch. I often here the complaint that organic food is more expensive than "regular" produce. But what are the costs to your health? To me its a no brainer - our body will respond to what we feed it. In April 2015 I began a new chapter in my life, Motherhood. It is such a unique role. Its exciting, challenging, diverse. It pushes me to new ways of thinking, I have to constantly evolve and rely only on the fact that everything changes. It has made me realise just how much I grasp to consistency and routine. Its made me appreciate all the small moments that make up my day (and Nights). Bringing a new sense of awareness and drive.
It has made me think of the many roles that we play in our lives - Mother, Father, Daughter, Friend, acquaintance. All offering a different insight into ourselves. Whenever we interact with others we are given an opportunity to look deeper into our ownself. How? You ask. Each relationship we have can reveal a different part of ourself. Things that irritate, anger, annoy, frustrate or scare us in others, are a mirror to that likeness in ourselves. So every encounter we have is in opportunity to better understand our own insecurities and to face them and ultimately heal them. The more aware that we become in our interactions with others the more we are able to respond rather than react. It helps to build compassion and understanding for our self and others. So when you have a relationship that is difficult really focus on yourself - your emotion, thoughts, how your body reacts. Do this as if you are looking at yourself from your best friends perspective - from a place of love and compassion. What is the real reason behind your fear, frustration, anger... Does it conger up memories from a past relationship that ended badly or a childhood fear or a limitation you have placed on yourself? Be patient with yourself but also be fearless. The key to your happiness in life is you. It takes time and practice to teach yourself to respond rather than react but the better you understand and love all parts of yourself, the better you can love and understand others. Ultimately you are practicing peace. And inner peace one person at a time eventually becomes world peace.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
There are many wonderful benefits of Reiki. Reiki is a very simple process, but can produces quite profound effects. The main purpose of reiki is to promote a positive mind and healthy body so that people can experience joy in life.
Reiki does not promise a miraculous cure, conditions that have taken many years to manifest in the physical body may not be cured in just a few sessions. The person has to want to be well and will possibly also need to make some lifestyle changes so that the source of stress and negative emotion (dis-ease) does not reoccur. It takes time for the Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual bodies to be brought back into balance.

There is nothing better than someone doing exactly what they are meant to be doing. Living out their passion and creating wealth and prosperity as a result. I believe that too often we give up on our dreams and desires for all the wrong reasons and end up in careers that are purely money driven.
It is a scary thought to possibly give up financial security and take the risk of failing. But what if you succeed? You could be making a living doing what you love and are passionate about and inspire others to do the same. I am sure it is not the easy road but surely it is the more fulfilling. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming walking out of the known and into the unknown. So why not take baby steps to create the future that your heart desires.
What can you do right in this moment to take a step closer to that which you truly desire? Is it looking into going part time in your current position to allow the time and opportunity to do what you love, perhaps taking a night class to acquire the qualifications you need? It is even as simple as affirming your desires. Try the following "I have a career that is fulfilling and uplifting. I am supported in all ways to make my dreams a reality. I am open to new opportunities. I willingly release any limiting thoughts or beliefs that may be blocking me from my souls purpose." Mindset is everything, if you believe you can do it you will.
Meditation is key to bringing more peace and joy into all aspects of your life. This is a simple and short meditation to get you started on your journey within.
I thought I might share some stuff that came up for me during meditation this morning, as always take what resonates and leave what doesn't.
As I sat to meditate this morning I felt fidgety and my mind busy. I set my intention, practiced my pranayama and then came to some insight. There is a collective energy that is surging and building as the fullmoon approaches. At this time we are all undergoing changes in our body and mind - purging of old thoughts and mindsets and our bodies cleaning house ready for this new wave of energy to settle in. I believe this is why many of us are or have been unwell and many people have been troubled by past hurts or simply outdated ways of thinking.
It also came up that there are many guide posts on our path, some in the form of people, others more subtle like a book, a place or song that keep popping up with the same message. Pay attention to the subtle energies around you. Trust that even though it may be a struggle to sit in silence and stillness meditating - you are cultivating peace and awareness for yourself and those around you on a level you may not even be aware of.
Finally, clarity - be very clear in your intentions at this time, everything is been manifested at an accelerated rate. So be very mindful of what it is you want in your life and guide your thoughts, words, actions and desires towards what you wish to create.
"No act of kindness is ever too small". As we go about our daily lives its often easy to forget to practice kindness towards ourselves and others. Practicing kindness does not have to be a grand gesture, often the greatest acts of kindness are the simple things we can do. Not participating in gossip or judging someones appearance is an act of kindness that we often overlook. We are not here to judge others, we are here to help and to serve all of life. Treating all living beings with respect is the greatest step towards kindness and you can practice this daily.
Been mindful of your self talk is another act of kindness, if you find that you are been harsh or negative towards yourself, start practicing affirmations that are loving and kind. For example, if you are critical of your appearance practice saying "I radiate love and beauty from deep within my being. My thoughts, words, actions and desires today come from this place of love and beauty."
As your inner world begins to change, so too will the world around you. If there is a particular person that you have trouble with, try saying this affirmation "I treat all beings with love and kindness, may all beings know love, health, safety and peace."
The more you practice love and kindness the easier it will become for this to flow into all of your interactions and the more peaceful you will become.
So often in our relationship with ourselves and others we get tangled up and weighed down with emotional turmoil. We have a thought, we perceive that thought as good or bad and then we attach an emotion to it, we allow our body and mind to then be ruled by this emotion. Often this fuels arguments and can be destructive to ourselves and those around us.
When we start bringing mindfulness into our lives it opens us up to discovering a beautiful world that resides inside of us. We cultivate the ability to remain present. When we are present we feel the emotion rise in our body and thoughts. We can acknowledge and honour that emotion, truly listening to what our feelings are there to tells us.
Journaling about your experiences and feelings helps to build emotional awareness. Another avenue is to express an emotion through creativity. Capture a specific emotion you're feeling by writing poetry, painting a picture or composing music, really sitting with that emotion and letting it be released in a healthy way.
Practicing meditation daily helps to build mindful practice in your life, so that at times of emotional upheaval you are able to go to that still place within you and express your emotions in a healthy way for yourself and those around you.
