Mindfulness is our ability to be aware of what is happening in the present moment. It is the continued awareness of the sensations in our body, our emotions, our thoughts and surroundings. It is allowing yourself to be that stillness, the ever present observer behind all of your reactions.
When we are not mindful, we create unnecessary suffering in our body, our mind, and our lives. In practicing mindfulness, we become a peaceful refuge for ourselves and others. When we cultivate mindfulness in ourselves it grows. Soon we begin to evolve seeking to practice compassion, understanding, integrity and the desire for peace grows.
Clarity flows from mindfulness. When we are mindful, we can practice Mindful thinking and Mindful Speech, this is the practice of responding rather than reacting. With the energy of mindfulness we remain in the present moment where all of life unfolds.
