I just finished listening to a fantastic interview with Dr. Craig Hassed on the practice of Mindfulness and the many benefits it has on all aspects of life. One of the many things I found very insightful was the benefits that practicing mindfulness has on the physical body. It has been proven to relieve the severity of depression and lessen the effects of common colds & flu, among many other health benefits. It made me think how much better off the Australian economy would be if every business allocated just 10 minutes a day to the staff practicing a Mindfulness meditation. It would reduce the number of sick days and relieve stress and tension so common in so many workplaces.
I would also love to see this integrated into schools, nursing homes, jails, correctional facilities and mental health facilities throughout Australia. What an amazing difference just 10 mins of Meditation a day would make on our communities.
In the past 6 days I have noticed a remarkable improvement in my levels of creativity and awareness. I feel more inspired, uplifted and motivated than I have in a long time. Making a commitment to myself through the practices of Mindfulness Meditation and the contribution I am making to my global community has awakened my spirit.
